Game Rules for The Treasure of Black Jac Shellac

1. All rules that normally apply at the Paintball Zone will be in effect for this game:

  • No fighting, or contact with intent to harm – results in field ejection and possible arrest.
  • Masks will be worn at all times on the field, or in the chrono area.
  • Guns may only be fired on the field, or in the chrono area, even if repairs are needed.
  • Guns will be set to fire at no more than 285 feet per second.
  • Barrels will be blocked at all times off the field, except when in the chrono area.
  • A player may not shoot another player from closer than 20 feet without providing the opportunity to surrender, by saying “Safety”.
  • Overshooting will result in removal from prize drawings or game expulsion, depending on the severity of the incident.
  • Every player must have a Paintball Zone insurance waiver signed and on-file.
You can download the waiver at: www.thepaintballzone.com/pbzwaiver.pdf
Print the form, fill it out in ink, and bring it to the game to speed your registration.

2. You may pre-register for this game by sending your name and the names of any others that will accompany you to the game, the name of your team (if you have one) and your email address to teamct@pacbell.net. This is only for us to get a player count. You will still need to register and pay at the game. By pre-registering, you and the others whose names you provide, will get a second opportunity to win a prize during the post-game drawings.

3. Registration will occur from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. sharp, there will be an early drawing for prizes, including a brand new Delta 68 paintball pistol. Anyone not registered by the 9:30 a.m. cutoff will not be eligible for this early drawing. After the drawing there will be a Safety Speech, followed by explanations of the game storyline and the game rules. We will then put together the two main pirate teams, and the Rum Runners team. After that, we will try to give everyone about a half hour to chrono and finish preparing for the game. We are going to try to start the game at 10:30 a.m., and end at 4:00 p.m. After the game, we will announce the point totals and declare a winning team, and then have another round of prize drawings.

4. This is an “event paint only” scenario game. There are two grades of paint available for just $40 and $55. Anyone found to be shooting anything other than event paint will be expelled from the game without entry fee refund.

5. The only allowable source for compressed air and CO2 will be the Paintball Zone. Personal air fill systems are not allowed. All bottles must meet DOT requirements.

6. Only standard 68 caliber paintball guns and paintball grenades will be allowed at this event. Any other devices must be approved by Team CT in advance of their use.

7. A player is “eliminated” (tagged, shot, hit, whatever) when told so by a game judge, or when the player indicates his own elimination. The game judge’s decision on elimination is final. A player indicates his own elimination by any of the following: calling out “hit”, “dead” or “out”, accepting an offer of surrender, raising a hand, both hands or a marker above the head, placing a barrel plug or condom on the marker, or walking off the field.

8. Players may also be eliminated by a “barrel tag”. To lower the risk of injury, a barrel tag is defined as getting close enough to an opponent by stealth, or by trickery, that you can touch the opponent with your hand. The tagged opponent is automatically out. You should not use the barrel of your gun. Also, you may not run to an opponent to get a barrel tag.
