He was born to this family in a time after the land was starting
to pay back, and although it still took considerable time,
to do the farming and chores, it still left him with time for
learning, play, and becoming head of the family.

He inherited the family home and land, and became a leader (gentleman) in the community. He married Sarah Langstaff (sister of John Langstaff) of Piscataway. He had 8 children and lived
out his life in Woodbridge.
