Village Ministry

A visit to the Kanazi village on the Niger river this month, included, Dr. Johnstone and his wife Marilyn. Dr. Johnstone was the surgeon who operated on Adamou over a year ago. This visit was a great encouragement and reminder to each of the mission- aries involved (representing 3 different mission agencies), that we work together to share the gospel of Jesus & minister to the needs of the people of Niger.
Together we were able to once again pray and share that Jesus is the Great Physician who healed Adamou’s leg and can heal him from spiritual sickness as well.

Continue to pray for heart healing for Adamou and his entire family.

Pray for Dr. Johnstone and his wife as they return to the US after a month of donated services at the SIM Galmi Hospital in Niger.


Phil traveled to a village 40 minutes outside of Niamey along with representatives from the Barnabas Foundation. These men delivered 150 sacks of rice and millet to families in the village. Each 100lb sack costs $45 and can feed a family of 5 for about one month. This is a needed gift, as these families are facing famine situations due to poor rainfall this year. Pray for a spiritual harvest, as the village pastor gives witness to in whose name this food was given.



Church Welcomes Pastor

This summer the ACEN church of Niamey welcomed their new pastor Bilimpo and his wife, Yampambou. They are missionaries from Burkina Faso desiring to see our church grow spiritually and reach out through evangelism to the lost in the community, surrounding villages and countries. Phil has helped the pastor find his way around our big city and introduced Bilimpo to other pastors and mission leaders in Niamey

Next month Pastor Bilimpo and Admin Pastor Etienne will attend a training seminar in Ghana, with men from around Africa. There they learn how to translate The God Story into Gourmantche. The training seminar will be led by a representatives from our supporting church in Georgia. We are excited for our two churches to work together on this project and look forward to more opportunities like this in the future. Pray that this seminar will lay the groundwork for translating The God Story not only into Gourmantche, but also other languages in Niger.

Pray for Pastor Bilimpo and his family as they transition into our small church. That they will be warmly accepted and make an impact of the Lord in the church and community.


At the Orphanage

The CSEN orphanage is a busy place this month; construction projects are being worked on—walls for a school building, new toilets and permanently fixed swing sets. Ten teens from Sahel have begun visiting once a week as part of their community service. They received an “abandoned & malnourished” child, Hassane & another boy, Mousa, is being adopted by a French family. School will begin for most of the children next month. Pray for the children’s health, safety and growth.

*Praise for Pastor Bilimpo and Yampambou’s arrival here in Niamey. Pray as they build friendships and ministry networks. Pray for Phil as he facilitates these meetings for the pastor and mission/church leaders.

*Pray for Bilimpo and Etienne as they attend the God Story training seminar in Ghana on Oct 15th.

*Pray for Shannon as she serves at the boys school 2 mornings a week,

participates in Moms in Touch prayer group & works with the school community service to the CSEN Orphanage.

*Pray for Noah in 8th grade and Micah in 6th., both boys have several new teachers and once again the school has grown. Pray for the needed $6,000 for their tuition.

*Pray regarding our housing situation and God’s provision. Pray

there will be a resolution to the power problem.

*Pray for $1,700 for Medical hospitalization and Medivac Insurance.

*Pray for Phil as he prepares messages for both the English service and ACEN church services.

* Praise for good health and many opportunities to serve.
