God's Gift to Mankind

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,  Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

December 2012

Bringing the Bible to Life

Work has begun with local pastors to produce a live nativity as an evangelism tool during the month of December. Many of the people in Niger live just as Jesus did, with mud brick homes, water drawn from wells and sleeping outdoors. Think of the real props we’ll have; camels, sheep and donkeys. Our prayer is that the nativity would be made very relevant to them. This is the first in Niamey and Hassane will present it at the CURE Hospital.

Sharing in the Neighborhoods

The Good News is being told in the local neighborhoods as four evangelical churches on our side of the river hold a suburb wide evangelism festival seeking to reach over 9,000 people for Christ, December 3-12th.

Please pray that for the various events; door to door evangelism, showing the Jesus film, and rally's, will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach men, women, boys and girls for Christ and see them grow. Pray for Hassane as he heads up this festival and members of our church participate .

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of
those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings, who
proclaim salvation, who say
to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Isaiah 52:7

Children Hear the News!

This month the team of Sahel
students visited the CSEN Orphanage as part of their weekly outreach. They shared the GOOD NEWS of the birth of Jesus with flannel graph stories and celebrated with singing and some snacks.

Pray that the love of Jesus and his plan for these children's lives will be made clear through these words and deeds.

Prayer & Praise

CSEN Orphanage

Thank you for your prayers as Phil begins to work with the EEI Church (the CSEN Orphanage's church) in assisting them with restoration and new construction supervision on an addition to enlarge their sanctuary.

This project helps to further the spreading of the Good News in Niger as this property is used both for the Evangelical International Church and for ESPRIT Bible school.

Pray that Noah & Micah would be
growing in their own faith,
and begin to serve with their
own gifts

Praise that Shannon along with her friends could share the Good News of Christmas with others through their nativities sold at the local Christmas bazaar.

Pray for Shannon as she leads Mom's In Touch and serves in the Sahel Academy school library 2 mornings a week.
Pray as she prepares to team teach a sewing elective next semester.

Pray for ongoing translation work for church planting and strengthening materials as they are fine tuned and contextualized for West Africa and Muslim countries.
Pray as seminars will be held throughout French and Hausa speaking West Africa.
