Quake Memories of:

Gay Maestas,

Lab retiree,

Volunteer for Valley Humane Society

You brought back memories with this column. I clearly remember being in the LLNL Bldg. 222 humungous vault when movement began. The enormous vault doors were moving like liquid and when I went out in the hall people were just stunned. Needless to say those who could go home did, since I lived (still do) on Lupin Way, I rode my bike home and my grandfather clock had walked itself to the center of the room, all kitchen cabinets were open and my dogs took the opportunity to eat some of the frozen meat that came out of the freezer. Luckily my home was facing in the direction of the movement so I didn't receive any major damage. It was quite a ride though.
