BLACK BASS ACTION COMMITTEE'S
LIVE RELEASE BOAT PROGRAM

In 1996 the BBAC reccognized a window of opportunity in establishing a live release boat program. The program as designed would improve out black bass fishery, support the tournament organizations, generate positive public relations, and raise revenue to support black bass habitat and enhancement programs. In addition the release boats enhance tournament draws to their associated lake generating additional recreational revenue for the community.

Black Bass Support

The release boats will distribute the tournament caught fish throughout the lake eliminating the weigh-in sight fish release; turning a negative public relations
impact into a positive.

Boats are built with National Forest Service input incorporating on/off access of equipment to serve also as habitat workboats.

Tournament organizations will have access to the release boats without the capital cost of purchasing their own.

The boats are available for Department of Fish and Game studies.

Release boats are available to any group at no cost for habitat work.

Available sponsorship space on boats serve the related industry and community
business by showing their support in conservation.

Revenue raised through release boat rental supports boat expenses, sponsorship supports boat operational costs and also goes to black bass conservation programs.

The existence of live release boats serves black bass anglers, the industries, and the communities in reflecting a strong image of conservation for both the fishery and the sport itself. This is a positive public relations serving to safe guard the sport for "generations to come".

Currently the BBAC owns and operates three live release boats. The Delta, Oroville, and Shasta release boats are available and supporting our Black Bass Alliances.

Sponsorship

Currently the BBAC owns and operates three release boats; one on Lake Shasta, one on Lake Oroville, and one on the Delta which also is trailered to other lakes in central California. The BBAC just acquired its third release boat for exclusive use at Lake Oroville. As outlined above sponsorship is the key in driving the program and your support is most appreciated. Please review the attached pages reflecting the sponsorship programs. The BBAC hopes you will join with us in supporting this worthy and responsible program.
