The club began in 1986 and is based in Jackson, CA. Membership has varied over the years from about 18 to just over 30. The club has drawn members for as far away as Murphy's, Lodi, and Sacramento. Current membership stands at 29. The club maintains a boater to non-boater ratio to insure that there is no more than two fishermen per boat.

The club holds eight official tournaments a year due to weather problems for some of our members during the winter. No lake is fished twice during the tournament year. Our end on year awards include Angler of the Year, Top Six Champion and Non-Boater of the Year. In addition to tournaments the club raises money throughout the year, for the local Christmas Charity. We host a Casting Kids event. In addition the club has a family bar-b-que and Christmas Party.

Teams from Oro Madre have won two and placed third in West Coast Club Affiliation tournaments winning two bass boats. A women's team competed in the Bass N Gals Championship and won, winning a third boat.
