New Lucky Fishing Hat Priceless

The eighth Annual Bay Area Chapter San Jose BBAC Dinner held at Lou's
Village on June 13th 2002 was a big sucess. I was there with about 20 people from the Bass Classics of Santa Clara Valley and we all thought it was great especially Gary who won most of the prizes at our table. The evening started out with cocktails and viewing all the great prizes to be raffled and auctioned. The sponsors had donated a lot of Rods, Guide trips, Wildlife art, Sports Memorabilia and Tackle packs in both the auction and the raffle.

Then they had some very good hors d'oeuves and the ticket girls were very
friendly and encouraged all of us to buy more tickets for the raffle.
We had a great steak dinner with good service from the people at Lou's Village
and some very good wine from Spinetta Winery that everyone had on their table
with dinner. After Dinner we had some raffle prizes given away, then the Auctioneer Edd Brown came out and did a great job at calling the Auction bids. They also had some great sports memorabilia like an autographed Sharks Hockey Stick signed by the whole team, an autographed photo of Joe Montana, and an autographed photo of Jerry Rice. One of the more interesting prizes was a Wildlife Art Print of the Snowy Owl used on the labels of Spinetta wine and a few bottles throws in. They even gave away a trip to Las Vegas for three nights to one lucky guy in the raffle. They also auctioned a Trojan Battery and a Duck Hunt in the Colusa Area for two hunters. They auctioned some of the most beautiful wildlife Art of Smallmouths chasing shad, and Largemouth Bass leaping and even a Bull Elk Wildlife Art Print. They were all very nice and a lot of people wanted them.

They had a few of the Mark Tyler's special Kistler Rods and Senko specials that
felt great and everyone wanted to have one.
The one thing my friend Mike wanted was a tackle pack with one of those great
new Terminator hats in it. He didn't win one and was a little disappointed but then
Mark Smyth in our club gave him his and that made his night. He called it his new
lucky hat and thought it was priceless. Our table was very lucky in the raffle and
won many of the great prizes donated. One of the best prizes was the ducks flying
in for a landing painting that Mark won. Gary Gill won about 6 or 8 prizes and was
very happy and had to have help carrying all the stuff out.

We are looking forward to next year and we hope that all of the other fisherman in
the area can come to next years dinner with us to support the BBAC and all the
great things they are doing for us and the bass fishery.
